Comments: 1884: Allocated fishing registration number SSS278 at South Shields
21/05/1895: Assisted in re-floating KESTREL (A663), aground at Whiteness near Scalloway.
25/12/1895: Became unmanageable after being swept by huge seas while trying to enter Aberdeen harbour. With the stokehold flooded and the fires out the vessel drifted northwards in the wind and was driven onto the beach beyond the Don mouth. All crewmen landed safely.
09/01/1896: Refloated and taken to the yard of Alexander Hall & Sons for repairs to extensive damage estimated at £1,800.
16/10/1896: Skipper Joseph Ballard charged with fishing within the 3 mile limit off Girdle Ness at Aberdeen Sheriff Court, fined £20 or 21 days imprisonment. Captain Lucas of HMS JACKAL also confiscated the trawling gear.
05/05/1904: Foundered approx 35 mls SE from Girdleness, Aberdeen, after developing a leak. Skipper J Ballard and six crewmen rescued.
